Eat Your Weed! Marijuana Cooking Ideas
Here are three ways we break down marijuana flower to include in our everyday meals.
Yield 1 lb. Canna Butter or about 48 servings (1 serving is equivalent to 2 tsp)
- 1/2 oz. ground Colorado Grow Company marijuana flower
- 1 lb. butter
Place 1/2 ounce of ground marijuana flower with 1 pound of butter in a pan over very low heat. We prefer Kalona Super Natural brand organic butter because of the high fat content and it is sourced from happy, grass-fed cows. Allow the butter and marijuana to continue to cook for 2 to 3 hours. You want the mixture to slowly infuse. Your butter should not simmer or boil at any time. Strain into a small container – we like to use cheesecloth and a strainer. Then refrigerate until your cannabutter is hardened. You can store in your freezer or fridge. Perfect for any favorite recipe that calls for butter. Perfect in baking, spreading on toast or for melting and dipping. Bon appetit!
Canna Cooking Oil
Yield 2 cups Canna Cooking Oil or about 48 servings (1 serving is equivalent to 2 tsp)
- 2 cups of vegetable oil (such as coconut, olive or sunflower oil)
- 1 cup of ground Colorado Grow Company marijuana flower
Add the ground leaves or flower to the oil in a small pan and heat it up. Again, you want to just heat the mixture slowly so that it infuses. No frying or boiling here. Allow the butter and marijuana to continue to cook for 2 to 3 hours. Let it cool and then strain the oil. It can be used for any recipe that calls for cooking oil such as marinades, salad dressing, or baking.
Canna milk or cream
Yield 2 cups Canna Milk/Cream or about 48 servings (1 serving is equivalent to 2 tsp)
- 3oz of milk or cream-If you’re vegan, try using coconut milk /cream or your favorite nut milk.
- 1/4oz of ground Colorado Grow Company marijuana flower
Heat up the milk or cream in a saucepan- do not let it simmer or boil. Add the ground marijuana flower and stir it gently. Let the mixture infuse for half an hour. Stir every now and then. Put the milk through a strainer and let it cool down. Use canna milk/cream in your coffee, tea, chai, milkshakes or ice cream.
